one image inspiring

I had so much fun creating from Lani's photo that I made 2 more! Actually, I needed to figure out how to work with the photo in the Elements photo programs, so went for some tutoring to the Apple store, and learned. After that, I could not resist working on the photo again. Made 2 different images but was in such a hurry to mail them off for the deadline, that I neglected to take a photo of both of them. The process was exciting and loved the challenge. I am off to Houston, TX tomorrow to pick up my husband's 85 year old Aunt who recently lost her husband. It will be a quick overnight, then back home to settle her in. Maybe I can get her to do some art work in my studio??? That would be great. off and running..................

It feels good...

to complete a work of art. Just finished a post card size art work for one of my Yahoo groups, "14 Secrets"....an altered post card of one image. It was a lot of fun to work on...sure did stretch my imagination. The weather is becoming cooler and it is Autumn in New England. The air is crisp and it feels good to make soup! I am looking forward to cool nights and very comfortable sweater days.

Carton Creations

On Friday and Saturday, I worked on creating and filling 2 cartons for Art in a Carton mail swap run by Susan J. Letham. I am having so much fun and have one more carton to create. I never thought decorating wax milk cartons, along with filling them with art projects would prove to be so much fun. Looking forward to receiving cartons in the future to get more ideas and continue the fun.

Room Hermit

I am becoming an art room hermit, spending most of my day in my new art space. I am keeping busy making art for the "Art in a Carton" swap, having received a lovely carton from Susan J. Letham from Germany. Displayed in the photo below are the items from Susan. I have her first carton complete and will package it for mailing on Monday morning.

Using my artist space

I worked with my new client for the first time in my new art space. It was a pleasure to offer a safe, pleasant, and art-filled environment in which to play. I am looking forward to rewarding and healing hours in this sacred space, for myself and for those I work and play with.

Nearing the end of the tunnel!

Well, quite a bit of time has passed, and a lot of work has been accomplished. The back room studio is nearly complete with a few minor things that will get done eventually. Check out the results. Still need to install the gas heater on the far wall, and 2 light fixtures on the ceiling, alongside the center light/fan. I worked with a new client on Monday past, and am looking forward to many rewarding endeavors in this space.

Slowly coming together.....

Placing tables to work on smaller items to place on shelves, etc. I finally realized that i cannot possibly fit eveything I have into this new studio space, so I will have to work hard at going through a very large room of items that I have accumulated for many, many years. It will be hard to do, but I have convinced myself that it will be for the best in the long run. More to come as I work hard on placement and what to keep/what to let go. Ohhhhhh that letting go.

Audio lost

Some things found, others lost! The audio portion has gone somewhere...and I can't take the time to fiddle around with it now. Same with the slide show. I am working on a project for a Yahoo art group, and need to focus on completing it before anything else. It is hot and humid here in Western MA...keeping cool inside and appreciating the sun. Looking at other blogs listed on Lani (Puppetmaker's) site, and am very impressed! Some work being done on my art space...lots of noise from nails banging! Time to go to work on my project.

Too darn busy

Ohhhhhhh, just too many things to do. Have been called back to teaching the past several weeks and had not time to blog. The art studio space is coming along and should be complete in another few weeks. I am wanting to put a slide show on my blog to show the progress. Will attend to that in between the spaces of time!

hot and humid

It is like the tropics here in NE lately. Thundershowers in the afternoon and evenings.... For some reason, I am still not well. Whatever I have, it doesn't want to go away. Therefore, I will just note that I am patiently waiting to get well. Studio work is still in progress, which is great. Looking foreward to more progress.

I'm so excited!

ONLY because my husband, Bob, and helper, Mike, started working on my studio space today. A new floor is being placed down as I type, most of it done after a full day's work. The new windows will be in next week, and the new wall will go up! I am sooooooo happy! Now, to think about where I am going to put everything. Now, that's a challenge.

At Last

Feeling better, finally. It was like being in a rainforest last night and today in western New Enland. Rain forecasted for the rest of the week too. I am so happy to be feeling better. Sent off the altered book to N.S. today, and started working on the faerie slippers. Will be teaching on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons for a while for the month of June and July. Lots and lots of reading and prep work to do for the classes, so.......art work will be to relax in small spaces of time. Interesting class that I am teaching--multicultural art therapy. I am psyched.

Sunday Sunday

I haven't written as I have not felt well, and still do not feel up to par. I think it is a virus, and hope it leaves soon. I have been taking my mind off my not feeling good by doing some art work when I could. I completed a page in an altered book and will be sending it off in tomorrow's mail. I have been asked to teach a summer class due to an emergency (instructor illness/hospitalization), and will be teaching on Tuesday and Thursday afternoon for the remainder of the summer--until August, I think. My son, Buddy, returned from New Hampshire (Bike week) and brought me a shirt and one for my husband too. His band (The Lobsterz from Marz) played a gig at The Barnaroo Festival at the old Powdermill Barn in Ct. last night. He said it was great...played outside under the sky until around 2 in the a.m. Good news from my husband, Bob! He is going to do somework tomorrow on my studio room! YES! The Sox are on: 10th inning, 3 to 3. Will they win? It took them 8 innings to catch up and tie the game. Oh, those Red Sox. Time to start working on some tiny faerie slippers for another swap. Will post a picture of them when I finish all 3 pairs. They are just too cool.

10:35 pm

Posting photos of some of my button collection. They are little treasures that I love to look at.

Success

Yes! After 3 tries, I finally got the audio to work. I am happy. Little by little I am learning how to get my blog working to my satisfaction. I hope to add more as time goes on and make it as interesting as possible for all to view. .......It is a fantastically awesome beautiful perfect day today. I think it is time for me to go out to run some errands and to enjoy it..........AND...........the Celtics game was one to remember. We are the champions!

busy day and nothing done

I don't know where the time goes! Seems like I just got up and it's time to start dinner already. No artwork done today... Tonight is the Celtic's/Lakers game in Boston, and I know I am going to give that my full attention. Joined another art group today, but I am not sure I will stay. I will give it a week or two to check out the action. I finished 2 faerie slippers yesterday, and I am very pleased with them. I had fun making them and look forward to making 2 more sets. Waiting for another set of AT cards so that I can complete the swap, and am still involved with the altered book swap. I'll probably begin another art project tomorrow that is due in July. I have to post them where I can see them so that I won't forget what I'm doing! I've got that elderly disease: CRS. Have to write everything down. time to get going.....

Would you believe it?

I did it! I went ahead and did it--created a blog. I never thought I would, but I just couldn't resist. It is all about joining an mail art swap group that requires that one has a blog! The things one does for love of art. Well, here goes everything. Today I worked on art all day long making little tiny faerie slippers for one of my Yahoo group art swaps. I was having such a great time focusing on that one little felt slipper and the choices made to embellish it. One done, one to go. I love them!
