COLORADO LADY

Completed Niche and Front Cover of AB

This is the final technique from Elizabeth's on line AB class. I am happy with the way it came out, and did not feel a need to do more to the cover than to add an embellishment: a metal piece taken from a vintage blouse! The book has a great red cloth cover, and the metal piece seemed to be perfect. "Less is more."

My pal, Pal

Pal is stretched out on the sunporch couch, one of his favorite spots. I am taking his photo every now and then to possibly paint a collage of his many poses. He is very trying at times, but I love him anyway.

Cape Ann Magic

I love Cape Ann. It is so beautiful there. We usually go to Gloucester, but we went to Rockport this past Monday and Tuesday. Even though we drove straight into the Nor'easter, it was still a restful and enjoyable two days. Our B&B hosts were exceptional and the homemade breakfast fare was to die for. I visited the North Shore Art Association Exhibit and the Rockport Art Association Art Exhibits and they were extremely enjoyable ~ such talent in this world of ours. Everyone is a star!!! We did walk on the beach at Good Harbor until it began to rain again. It was all rain most of the time. We saw the movie, "The Proposal"; it was filmed in Rockport (which they renamed Suska, Alaska). The movie was delightful and very funny. We also ate at "The Causeway", an experience in itself. When we arrived home early this afternoon, surprise -- no rain and even a little sunshine (very brief) and also very muggy. Our kitties were surprised to see us, and I was happy to see them. They were well taken care of by our son, Beau, who did a really great job. Above are photos of a house I love at Good Harbor and my husband, Bob, who I love even more! I found the hatbox at the thrift shop for 75 cents. I really did have a fun two days.

Giveaway at mysweetsavannahblogspot.com

mysweetsavannahblogspot.com This is the place you will want to check out to win a lovely prize! Do yourself a favor and go look and see! Such fun, these giveaways!

Fun with Fabric Technique

I did a background on 2 pages (using the sponge technique/colors: blue, red, yellow, and silver). I found a piece of fabric with an image that was printed on it that had a white background with a green border. I did use an iron-on (Pellon Wonder-Under Transfer fusing Web) however; it did not have a sticky back when I took the paper backing off. Don't know what I did wrong (ironed it for 30 seconds), but whatever I did, it did not work. Soooo, I decided to water color the surrounding space between the figure and the border in an aura like manner. After it dried, I sprayed the back with Elmer's Craft Bond and immediately placed it on my page. I used some glitter glue to surround the image. I like the result, although it was not all that creative. I enjoyed learning from others in Elizabeth's AB 101 Group, regarding fabric and use of clay. I had no clay or I would have tried something. We are nearly finished with our lessons.
