Learning

Yesterday I spent 2 hours with a local well-known artist in Florence, Ma learning new techniques for painting.  I was having a hard time painting, feeling nearly bored with the same old, same old.  I think it is called "Artist's Block!"  I had the most wonderful time and the time went by like a flash.  I was having so much fun, I hated to stop.  When I arrived home, I changed my studio around so that I could make more room to work on larger canvases.  I cannot tell you how much this 2 hour session energized me and woke me up.  I have so many ideas that I want to express.  Oh happy days!

September Calendar

I finished my Totem Animal Calendar way ahead of time due to some upcoming commitments.  I didn't want to wait until the last minute and stress out.  I haven't worked with pen and ink in a while, and it was fun and relaxing to draw this falcon.  I chose the falcon because they are all about focus - strong, one-pointed focus.  When they show themselves to us, we are being called to focus on our desires and our goals, and do what is necessary to bring our desires into our reality.  

 

 

Last 3 Spirit Cards

These are the end of the Spirit Card Deck.  I am awaiting my deck to be returned to me.  Now counting my own 3 cards, I should be receiving 33 Spirit Cards to complete a deck of 36 total.  It will be fun to discover what other group members have created for my deck.

Three more!

Rainy Tuesday here in Western MA.  Need to plug in extra lights to paint on the sunporch!  My studio is currently unavailable, filled with items from the living and dining room~still renovating with big gaps in between!  Uploading 3 more Spirit Cards made recently.  Challenges and Change are the theme of this deck.

 Plein Air Painting

This painting was done as part of a Plein Air Artist's Rendezvous sponsored by the Cultural Council of Florida.  It was sold before the opening!  I was so happy.

 This is a painting of my granddaughter's cat, Holly.  It is done in acrylic and is on a 12 x 16" wrapped canvas.

Home Again

I have decided to revert back to my previous layout.... it may work out better for me to post after a long absence... very scattered and out there.  Having several planets in Gemini are surely one of the reasons   : )    There have been so many changes recently...lots of renovations going on, and much food for thought.  I have photos to add.... I have been making art and it has made me happy.  Now to refresh my memory on how to get going here.  I see that Google has changed some of its workings....  It is a cool, partly sunny, and easy going day here in Ludlow, MA.  I will post my painting of "Ned".... It has been a year since he was taken by the coyote in Gloucester, MA.  It took me almost that long to be able to look at his pictures.

Vero Beach, FL

It has been absolutely beautiful here in Vero Beach.  We arrived last Friday and have been working hard getting our condo back into shape after having the floors tiled.  It really looks so much better and we love the way it looks.  No photos yet...having computer issues and actually, just got back on line.  Looking forward to visiting Cocoa Beach with dear friends tomorrow.  Hoping to get some photos uploaded while we are here, but...if not, then later on when I get back to my Mac back home!

Today is my birthday, and I am so happy!  I have received many birthday greetings and that makes me joyful.  Looking forward to a year of new beginnings and increased wisdom.  Happy New Year!

Love making these.... rather than a pair, I made one of each to hand as a Christmas Tree Ornament..... so fun and relaxing and meditative to make.

Angel of Hope and Healing

This is the Angel of Hope and Healing, born this Christmas Day between 3 and 7 am. She is made for a swap of Angels and will be off on her way to the one who needs her most. She guided me as I created her, and brought me hope and healing in the process!

Indian Summer

The weather has been really great and so much appreciated. It won't last forever though...rain is expected and more chilly temps. Just loving this Indian Summer... Forgot to take photos of the last 3 Spirit Cards I made.... too much in a hurry to send them off, and too much going on still! Keeping up with "The Store" and trying to make a go of it. I put the gas fireplace on this morning to ge the chill out of the air... it doesn't take long..... happy days ahead.
